Birdcage Placecards Sneak Peek

It is, indeed, wedding season, which means loads of opportunities for me to play around with new ideas.  I know I've mentioned being really busy over the past few weeks, and I haven't had a chance to share some of my projects with you just yet, BUT I just had to give you a little sneak peek at one of the latest projects I am working on for one of my readers in London: birdcage/lovebird placecards and cupcake toppers. 

This sweet gal stumbled upon the placecards {here} and cupcake toppers {here} that I designed a few weeks back for the Eat Drink Pretty dessert buffet.  She liked the design so much that she requested a similar design with just a few tweaks.  Instead of the chandelier, she wanted a birdcage outline with two lovebirds inside.  Her colors were pink with hints of pastel green, which is an excellent combo in my book.  Needless to say, I was excited to see what I could come up with.  I actually sketched about 10 different birdcages before I decided on this simple yet cute design.  I added a few embellishments here and there, and I am really pleased with the finished product.  I'll post more pictures later once I'm finished and the calligraphy is added (still working on this one!).  Have a wonderful day!

Interior Stylist Lo Bjurulf

How great is this tablescape designed by interior stylist Lo Bjurulf?!  I love the vibe of  the rustic barn backdrop against the fabulously eclectic and whimsical details scattered here and there.  Shall I mention the color combination as well?  I mean, seriously, these are some of my favorite colors...and all together...in one place...perfection all the way!  Oh-oh, and did you check out that hanging centerpiece?  COOL BEANS.  If I could plan my wedding all over again, I might take a page from Lo's book (figuratively speaking), and go for a simple picnic basket and pillow overload theme.  Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to have the perfect barn, too.

Place Card Of The Week: Polkadots

Happy Monday, friends!  I know I've been away from blogland for a few days catching up on projects (thank you for being patient with me!), but I'm happy to be back with this week's Place Card Of The Week: Polkadots.  On a side note, I actually made these tasty, little petits fours for my sister-in-law Katie's bridal (shower) brunch.  I used {this recipe} for the petit fours.  I then filled the centers with seedless raspberry jam, and topped them off with glaze, which is just your basic egg white, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla combo.  They were delicious!  As for the brunch itself, well, it was lovely as ever, which you will soon see pictures of over at Eat Drink Pretty, as Jenna was the mastermind behind said loveliness.

As far as the placecard this week, I was playing around with my penmanship in an effort to mix it up...just for kicks.  I love the color combination of this little card, and, let's be honest, does it get much more fun than polkadots?  I think not.  Have a wonderful day, gang!

One Of Those Days

Hiya, gang!  I know I've been a bit "hit or miss" (okay, a little more miss) this week, so I'm sorry for not having a Placecard of the Week just yet.  However, I've been working on some really fun, new projects that I am so excited to share with you all very soon.  I can't give it away right now, but stay tuned!

For today, I absolutely love this image.  How wonderful would it be to just lie down in the grass and read a good book or take a little snooze-a-roo?  Pretty fantastic, if you ask me!  I hope you find time this week to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and take time to do those little things that brighten up your day. 

In other totally random (less happy) news, my little, itty-bitty guy Oliver is at the vet all day getting all sorts of dental work done and a whole load of teeth pulled (I'm not even going to tell you how many - it makes me cringe).  Apparently, dental problems are very common with toy sized dogs (he's a whopping 5.9 lbs.), but I just feel terrible that he has to have this done.  The vet tried to assure me that this wasn't my fault and that this just happens all the time with these little breeds and so on and so forth, but I still feel terrible.

My husband and I don't have kids yet, so our dogs are our babies, and I admit that when the vet called to tell me that they were pulling all of his front teeth (keep in mind this is an otherwise very happy, healthy little guy that we spoil rotten), I cried.  Literally. I cried.  Then I picked up the phone and called my husband.  AND cried to him...on his birthday.  Did I mention today is my husband's, the love of my life's birthday?  It is, so as soon as I have Oliver home resting and healing, I am off to treat my husband to a little birthday fun, so for heaven's sake, I better get a grip!  He really is amazing, and I'm blessed to be married to such a wonderful guy.  Happy Birthday, Ron!

Here's a picture my sis-in-law Jenna snapped of Oliver a couple of weeks ago when we brought him and our little girl Peaches over to her house for a BBQ.  Isn't he too cute?

Pure Loveliness

Happy Friday, gang!  As a connoisseur (I use this term loosely) of all things dainty and pretty, I am over the moon for over this gorgeous Hollywood glam photoshoot by Jessica Claire Photography.  The stunning flower arrangements were designed by Flower Wild, and I must say, incorporating the pomegranate details are such a unique yet elegant touch to the overall tablescape.  Okay, I admit, I'm also swooning a wee bit over those adorable heart cut-out banners hanging from the chairs.  Oh, how I love details!  I give this photoshoot an "A+".

Throwing A Fabulous Graduation Party

Well, gang, it's that time of year again.  Graduation season is officially upon us, which means graduation parties are in full swing!

My dear friend and mentor Suzi has always known how to throw a fabulous party, so I was thrilled to watch her in action and snap some photos as she prepared for her son Seth's high school graduation party.  There were so many details that I had such a hard time choosing pictures - I didn't even show you the stunning interiors of her home!  (We'll save that for another post.)  Did I mention, that Suzi is also an interior designer/home stager?  She's pretty outstanding at it, I might add.  More on that later...

I absolutely LOVE all of the details here from the lanterns to the high top tables to the fire pit to the burlap wall hangings with white lights to that MASSIVE pizza and cookie...and so, so much more!  I really wouldn't expect anything less from Suzi.  I hope you find some fun and inspiring ideas from this fabulous party - I know I have!  Thanks for sharing, Suzi, and congratulations to our graduate, Seth!

A Simply Sweet Setting

When I came across this wedding over at the Wedding Chicks, I just had to *sigh*.  I mean, seriously, the details are so sweet and lovely and I can only imagine a dream come true for this gorgeous bride.  Every detail spells out "romance" and, of course, with a pinch of playfulness to top it off.  I really love it all!

And, oh my goodness, is that not the most adorable bridal party ever?!  Those darling floral dresses and dainty lace umbrellas are all around wedding perfection in my book.  Have a wonderful day, gang!

Placecard of the Week: Eclectic Teal & Feather

Happy Monday, friends!  I don't know about you, but I love mixing and matching different colors and designs to get my eclectic fix in for the week, and I think these placecards do exactly that.  I've mentioned this before, but I honestly never know what I'm going to create when I sit down to make placecards each week; but, perhaps, that's why I enjoy it so much.  Afterall, I've always loved surprises!  ...And the color teal...and feathers...and buttons...and ribbon...and...and...I think the combination is altogether fun and charming.

I like the idea of using these placecards for an eclectic style tea party or even a funky birthday party.  What would you use them for?

My Little Garden In The City

I readily admit that I have no clue as to the proper way to "garden", but I get excited just at the thought of planting my own herbs and vegetables and pretty flowers.  Perhaps, someday when hubby and I move out of our townhome and have a yard of our very own, I will then dive into the realm of *serious* gardening.  For now, I am most happy with my little boxes and pots of herbs, a few random veggies and flowers.  It makes me feel all domestic and "stuff", if you know what I mean.

I'm pretty good at keeping house plants alive, as I've had many of my house plants for up to 8 years now, but remembering to care for outdoor plants is a whole other beast.  That being said, I thought I would share a few pics of the flowers and herbs I have now before I forget to water them and they die uh...before weather conditions cause them any harm (wink, wink).  I wish you all a wonderful and blessed weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!
